Kranjska Gora, Slovenia:)

Kranjska Gora is a town on the Sava Dolinka River in the Upper Carniola region of northwestern Slovenia, close to the Austrian and Italianborders. It is the seat of the Municipality of Kranjska Gora.

Kranjska Gora and the Triglav National Park experience are inseparably connected with the road to Vršič, which at 1,611 m is the highest mountain pass in Slovenia. This steep hair-pin ascent, a challenge for any cyclist, was engineered as a military road during the First World War. It takes one directly into the heart of the mountains, and is the starting point of trails to two-thousand-metre summits as well as easier mountain hikes such as a route to Sleme. Here, at the 1,900 m above sea level, is the highest forest line in the Julian Alps.
